To know (part 1)

Personally I have been determining to know what it means to be a Christian. Paul and David are the ones that challenge me most. The way they write and talk about and of God; tells me there is more that I don’t know.

As Paul longed this too is my longing “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection”……..Philippians 3:10

Christ dying on the cross not only brought about the forgiveness of our sins. He changed everything and you may ask why don’t I feel different? The truth is you are different, your identity changes

From dead to alive. The literal death as we know it in Bible terminology is known as sleeping (John 11:11-14), but when the Bible talks of being dead it means being in sin. This simply means if you are not in Christ then you are dead in your sin. (Ephesians 2:1-5, Colossians 2: 13)

From sinner to saint. I think this is one of the hardest to comprehend- (it took a long time to understand). The truth is that God sees you as a saint- this doesn’t mean that you will not sin. You see forgiveness of our sins includes all sins past, present, future. You now have been born again. In other words you are like a newborn child only in the spiritual realm. We understand newborn in the physical realm, this is what we all were once, or you could be nurturing one as we speak/read. As a child needs nurturing so does a spiritual child needs nurturing this process is called discipleship- spiritually being fed and learning to obey. And all the mishaps we experience bringing up a physical baby will be experienced by the spiritual child but as a physical child masters things and eventually learns to put on their shoes so does the spiritual child learn to stop lying and the process is ongoing. (John 3:1-8)

Prayerfully ponder on this.
Is there a part of this that you don’t believe? Ask our Lord Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit to show you what the truth is and if they is doubt what has causes them?

Jesus we thank you for dying on the cross and by so doing you changed our status from dead to alive and from sinners to saints. Open out heart and mind to fully grasp these truth and live in a manner worthy of our identity in you. In Jesus name we pray
