What would you do if you came across your friend and found them surrounded by these things? what would you say? how would react? I imagine myself running for help, while at the same time shouting for them to get out of the way from harms way.
Take a second look at your other friend, he is wearing a smile on his face telling the world he is “fine” however in him, the very things that are around your friend are in his very body. He is destroying himself yet no one is running about trying to save him. In fact we are cool with our friend.
These picture depicts the difference between sexual sin and all other sins and how sin impact us.
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18
We have to remember a good God created this earth and all that he created was very good and that include sex; however along the way, we disobeyed God and used all that was good for evil. Neither of the pictures are good-toxic whether outside or in our body will eventually bring harm to us.
Our loving father knowing this, gave us a solution in his son Jesus Christ through whom on the cross all sins were forgiven, Christ, therefore is a free gift for every human being from a loving creator to a loved creation. Can I therefore ask you to love yourself better…by choosing this free gift for your salvation and forgiveness of sin.
Love yourself better by fleeing from sexual sin- the only sin that you commit against yourself – a sin sadly marred with pleasure that you fail to see the devastating effects. It is like taking a bitter pill coated in sugar-once the sugar is gone then all you are left with is bitterness.
Love yourself better by living differently choosing the Son and being transformed into his likeness.
Friend, God love you so much, He is love. May He teach through His Spirit how to love yourself better.
